# March 2026 - Synthetics

The following updates were released to the Kentik platform for Synthetics during March, 2026.

## Features

- **Pre-alert context in alert charts**: Alert details charts now show 30 minutes of pre-alert context by default, prioritizing raw data granularity.
- **Private IP shown in traceroute**: When a test is configured to use private IP, the agent's private IP is shown in the traceroute popover for easier debugging.
- **Device metrics in path view**: The traceroute popover now displays device CPU and memory metrics.
- **Test results sidebar & agent links**: A new right drawer on the test results page shows test configuration and health settings, with metric health tooltips and navigation links to agent summaries.
- **Traceroute horizontal scrolling**: Traceroute charts with many columns now scroll horizontally for easier viewing of complex paths.

## Bug Fixes

- **Bidirectional test reverse path**: Bidirectional agent-to-agent tests now display both directions in the path view.
- **Path view error/discard metrics**: Path View now uses the correct directional input/output error and discard metrics.
- **Standard deviation health units**: Strengthens validation of standard-deviation units for tests, especially those created via API.
- **Test config fixes**: Fixes HTTP test response headers being populated from request headers and DNS-over-ICMP tests incorrectly setting the target port to zero.
- **Used credits display**: Fixes a "NaN" value for synthetic test used credits.
- **DNS alert metric name**: DNS test alerts now show the correct "dnsLatency" metric name.
- **Zombie task prevention**: Prevents deleted/stopped synthetic tasks from continuing to execute in the background.
