# Synthetics Tests

Use Kentik’s **Tests** page to both [**configure Synthetics tests**](/v1/docs/add-or-manage-a-test) and view test results.

> [!NOTE]
> **Notes:**
>
> - Only Admin users can manage Synthetics tests.
> - For information about the types of tests that can be managed on the Tests page, see [**Test Types Reference**](/v1/docs/test-types).
> - For information about how test status (Healthy, Warning, Critical) is derived from test results, see [**Test Status** **Reference**](/v1/docs/test-status-reference).

![Kentik's Tests page shows active tests with their status, latency, and packet loss metrics displayed.](https://cdn.us.document360.io/082e25b5-afce-42d4-8f47-70bd3f1d02b7/Images/Documentation/SYN-tests-page-main.png)

*The Tests page is where you view and manage Synthetics tests.*

## **About the Tests Page**

The **Tests** page (**Synthetics »** **Tests** from the portal’s main nav menu) is where you manage your organization’s synthetics tests (see [**Tests and Subtests**](/v1/docs/synthetics-overview#tests-and-subtests)). This page is the starting point for the following activities:

- Managing [**Synthetics Tests**](/v1/docs/add-or-manage-a-test):
  - Click **Add Test** to go to the [**Add Test Page**](/v1/docs/test-settings-reference), where you can choose and configure a new test.
  - Click an individual test to open its results page where you also can [**edit the test's settings**](/v1/docs/test-settings-reference).
- Checking on your organization’s total [**Credit Utilization**](/v1/docs/tests-page#credit-utilization).

- Analyzing [**Test Results**](/v1/docs/test-results) and [**Subtest Results**](/v1/docs/subtest-results):
  - Clicking an individual test opens its results page, which also includes information/status for any related subtests.
  - Click an individual subtest to open its results page with information and status details.

> [!NOTE]
> **Note:** If your organization's test credit balance (see [**Test Credits**](/v1/docs/test-credits)) is below zero, a notification will appear to the right of the title on the main [**Tests**](/v1/docs/tests-page) page as well as on any Add Test Page or [**Test Settings Page**](/v1/docs/test-settings-reference). To add more credits, click the link in the notification (see [**Adding Test Credits**](/v1/docs/test-credits#adding-test-credits)).
