The following updates were released to the Kentik platform for Network Monitoring System (NMS) during January 2026.
Features
- SNMP unification in open early access: Unified SNMP device monitoring templates and flow enrichment are available to interested customers by feature flag.
- Command Access in open early access: Command Access is available to interested customers by feature flag.
- NMS Alerting now supports Interface Classification: You can now use Interface Classification rules as criteria when setting up NMS alert policies.
- Consistent time range formatting: Time dropdown options in Metrics Explorer and Data Explorer now use consistent formatting (e.g., "Last day + 4 hours").
- Faster device details loading: Device Details pages now load faster by fetching telemetry, components, IS-IS adjacencies, and BGP neighbor data on demand as you navigate.
- SNMP interface metrics source control: Customers with the UA SNMP Polling for Flow Enrichment flag can now choose whether SNMP interface data is collected by NMS or flow, set automatically without support intervention.
- Cumulus Linux SSH support: Cumulus Linux (NVUE) is now a supported platform option for device SSH configuration.
- Phoenixtec UPS monitoring: The APC SNMP profile now supports Phoenixtec UPS devices.
- Improved SNMP trap handling: Enhanced SNMP trap parsing and processing.
Bug Fixes
- Favorites tab links: Fixed broken navigation when opening NMS saved views from the Library Favorites tab.
- Sidebar filter loading state: The device filter sidebar now shows accurate loading feedback before displaying final counts.
- Device table labels: Fixed potential UI errors when viewing devices with incomplete label data.
- Faster temperature queries: Reduced device temperature query lookback to 4 hours for faster response.
- Negative metric formatting: Metrics Explorer now correctly displays negative values (e.g., negative dBm input power).
- Interface details performance: Optimized the interface details drawer load on device inventory pages.
- Device deletion with connections: Devices with auto-discovered connections can now be deleted; only manual connections block deletion.
- Device archival cleanup: Archived devices are now automatically removed from referencing dashboard items to prevent broken references.
- Interface count display: Fixed Device Details interface counts when the interfaces array is empty.
- APC UPS profile syntax: Fixed a YAML syntax error that prevented the APC UPS profile from loading.
