The following updates were released to the Kentik platform for Platform during January, 2026.
Features
- Audit log support for runbooks and UUIDs: The audit log now supports UUID-based entity identifiers and tracks runbook create/update/delete operations.
- License page redesign: A redesigned License page reorganizes add-ons, adds an Account Team card with direct messaging, and improves visual hierarchy for Premier features.
- PeeringDB settings page: PeeringDB integration moved from a modal to a dedicated settings page at /v4/settings/peeringdb for easier management.
- Agent distribution compatibility: The agent can now run on unsupported Linux distributions with tiered fallback (same-family enabled by default, cross-family opt-in).
- Kafka SASL authentication: ktranslate now supports SASL authentication for Kafka sinks via new user, password, and mechanism flags.
- Kafka TLS verification skip: Added an option to skip TLS certificate verification for Kafka connections in self-signed environments.
- Resizable table columns: You can now resize table columns (Sites, Interfaces, Devices, and more), with your width preferences persisted across sessions.
Bug Fixes
- User Analytics without NMS: The User Analytics page is now accessible without requiring NMS to be enabled.
- Kproxy error handling: Kproxy now returns a 400 instead of a 500 when a Kentik Agent Plan is missing, giving clearer feedback.
- Email subject formatting: Fixed an issue where HTML tags could appear in email subjects.
- Capability health status: Capabilities with unreachable connections now correctly report "Unknown" instead of a misleading "Healthy" status.
- File tag mapping: Fixed a bug where identical values in different tag columns were dropped during file-based tag mapping.
