The following updates were released to the Kentik platform during September 2026.
AI / Insights
The following updates were released to the Kentik platform for AI / Insights:
Features
- AI Advisor as your default landing page: You can now set AI Advisor as the page you land on after signing in.
- New AI Advisor sidebar and chat history: A persistent sidebar on the right side of the screen gives you chat history, recent chats, and AI settings. The sidebar is resizable, and chats auto-scroll until you scroll manually.
- Answer permalinks: Each AI Advisor answer comes with a permalink. Allows users who click a shared link to navigate to the answer.
- Inline SVG diagrams: AI Advisor now renders SVG diagrams inline, with zoom and export, instead of showing raw code. It adds to the existing Mermaid diagrams and can also generate charts from the data.
- Role-based access control for Runbooks: Runbooks are now subject to RBAC. Kentik-Managed Roles have been updated accordingly. Admins and super admins can create, edit, and delete runbooks. Standard members get read-only access by default, and AI Advisor respects these access levels.
- Fuzzy device matching: AI Advisor's device connections lookup now finds devices even when the name is slightly misspelled.
- Clearer sub-agent activity: Tool names now appear in readable form, and tool result panels are easier to follow.
- Longer sub-agent runs: The sub-agent tool timeout is now 10 minutes instead of 5, so AI Advisor can complete more complex multi-step analysis.
- AI model updates: Gemini 3.8 Flash and Claude Opus 5.5 were added, and the default models changed to Claude Sonnet 5 (advanced tier) and Gemini 3.5 Flash Lite (basic tier).
Bug Fixes
- Device config results in AI Advisor: AI Advisor now shows real device config results. You can compare revisions, search config content with context lines, and view the latest config.
- Markdown tables: Fixed broken table rendering in AI Advisor chat, Settings, Pathfinder reports, Insight Details and Boards panels.
- Command execution hangs: AI Advisor no longer hangs on commands that paginate output.
- Infinite loading in Custom Network Context: Fixed endless loading when the context is empty or a version is missing.
- Stale approvals: Fixed a race condition in the approval workflow that could resume a stale approval.
- Sub-agent replay: Fixed duplicate or incorrect information in conversation history after replaying sub-agent steps.
- Connectivity test errors: Failed connectivity tests now return the error text instead of breaking the agent step.
- Network metrics queries: Removed an invalid "none" aggregation option that caused query failures.
- Agents stopping early: Fixed AI agents stopping early when an OpenAI model returned commentary along with tool calls.
Alerting
The following updates were released to the Kentik platform for Alerting:
Features
- Keep and view suppressed alerts: Suppressed alerts are now kept, and you can list alerts to exclude, include or show only suppressed ones. Notifications are no longer sent for suppressed alert activations.

- Faster, more flexible suppressions: Suppressions reload faster, can start immediately, and the minimum start delay drops from 15 minutes to 1 minute. You can create and edit suppressions and see version history with edit time and user.
- More suppression filters and display names: You can filter suppressions by multiple rule IDs, applications and severities. Suppressions can have a display name, and "as soon as possible" start and end choices are kept for display.
- A10 Defense Orchestrator support: When you set up A10 DDoS mitigation, you can choose between the Direct-To-Thunder flow and the new A10 Defense Orchestrator flow. The orchestrator flow uses token-only authentication, and the choice is locked after you create the platform.
- Richer interface context in alerts: Alert triggers now include interface ID, provider and network boundary, so interface-based filtering works when a device is also specified.
- Pagination for the device alert table: The alerts table on the Device Details page now has pagination.
Bug Fixes
- Blank alert emails in Outlook for Mac: Alert emails now render correctly in Outlook for Mac.
- Device links in the alerting table: Fixed broken device links for kevent alerts and for alerts with missing device names.
- Report schedule errors: Opening a report with a malformed URL no longer causes an error.
Cloud
The following updates were released to the Kentik platform for Cloud:
Features
- More reliable Azure topology collection: Azure metadata collection now retries only transient errors, honoring Azure's Retry-After guidance, and refresh access tokens before they expire during long-running collections.
- More reliable GCP topology collection: GCP metadata collection refresh now runs with built-in retries for better reliability.
- More reliable OCI topology collection: OCI metadata collection now runs per compartment with built-in retries.
Bug Fixes
- Azure "Maximum call stack size exceeded" errors: Fixed errors that could interrupt Azure resource enumeration when Kentik retrieved Azure cloud metadata under load.
- AWS VPC names in Data Explorer: Data Explorer now uses the AWS topology summary to look up VPC names, so VPC names are more accurate and consistent in query results.
- AWS Direct Connect BGP prefix metrics: Changed how AWS Direct Connect virtual interface BGP prefix metrics are aggregated, and added missing metric mappings.
NMS
The following updates were released to the Kentik platform for NMS:
Features
- Delete config revisions: You can delete a device configuration revision, after a confirmation. The list then refreshes and shows the latest revision.
- Traps and syslogs in the Telemetry tab: Device Details shows whether SNMP traps and syslog messages arrived in the last 24 hours and which agents received them.
- VRF names and filtering: VRF column names appear in Device Details and metrics interface tables, with VRF name filtering and sorting.
- Celestica devices: Celestica devices show vendor icons and system details such as model.
- VyOS and Aruba AOS-CX config backup: Config backup now supports VyOS and Aruba AOS-CX over SSH.
- New device support: A10 Thunder virtual-server reports, per-CPU and component metrics; MikroTik hardware component and sensor reports; F5 BIG-IP APM metrics; Huawei model matching; Arista CoPP stats; Check Point interface speeds; interface name and alias enrichment for Arista measurements.
- Device profiles: Cisco Catalyst 9000 now identifies correctly. New Panduit PDU energy metrics. New A10 Networks and Arista VXLAN MIBs.
Bug Fixes
- Interface classification banner and table: The dashboard banner no longer shows 0% classification, and the Devices table shows current classification (it can take up to an hour to update). Classifications now apply correctly.
- Device bulk labels: Bulk labels now apply all selected labels even when a filter is active.
- Metrics picker errors: Metrics that can't be queried are hidden, and you get clear errors instead of SQL errors.
- Monitoring profile counts: Device counts under Settings > Monitoring Profiles are correct again.
- Data retention and sorting: The default NMS data retention is 390 days and can't be edited. Queries have a default sort order.
- Code editor and SNMP icons: Fixed a CodeMirror crash and SNMP icons for Ranger devices.
- Device fixes: Arista port-channel speed over gNMI, IS-IS neighbor hostnames, FortiGate component status, and Cisco SB stacked fan and temperature reports. Config preview shows byte values as strings.
- Interface classification performance: Improved performance for regex-based classification rules and the initial classification load.
Platform
The following updates were released to the Kentik platform for Platform:
Features
- Flow Proxy as one capability: The two Universal Agent flow-proxy capabilities are now one "Flow Proxy" with a Forwarding Mode and a Compatibility Mode.
